I returned about 20 books to the library yesterday.

They were overdue for over a year.

Now there are only 2 books still out on my library card. I reduced my debt with the library from $400 to about $50.

This makes me feel both competent and grown up.

I know where those other two books are too. One might have pages stuck together from being in the damp trunk. I am going to let it dry out and try and return it anyway.

This means I won�t have approximately $400 taken out of my state tax return, which is good.

Was that a step forward?
